Baskin Robbin's

It's Merdeka Eve tomorrow and what better way to celebrate than to spoil myself with some ice cream! I am thankful we live in a multi cultural nation that does not have the turmoil which exists in some other countries that  are constantly at war, chao's or suffer from the wrath of nature.

In Malaysia we are a multi cultural nation that makes us unique with only Singapore being the other country that offers similar diversities. I mean we celebrate Christmas, Chinese New Year, Hari Raya and Deepavli among other ethnic holidays together as one. It's exactly these cross culture integration that continues to attract and amaze tourists who visit our country. I hope that our various ethnic groups continue to grow together for the betterment of the nation rather than degrade into chaos, anarchy and hatred which we can see exists in other countries.

Anyways, last night, I headed over to Baskin Robbins to treat myself to some ice cream and ended up buying Two Quarts worth of ice cream. Baskin Robbins is currently offering 31% discount as Merdeka Celebration promo from the 29th-31st August so, go grab your ice cream quick! There was a crowd when I arrived and I ended up choosing Pralines & Cream and, Chocolate Cookie Dough for the first Quart. For the second Quart I chose Strawberry Shortcake and Love Potion #31. Needless to say, last night was ice cream bliss for me. Go grab some and enjoy the long weekend folks!

Instagram Sunday

Hi Everyone,

In this modern era, I am glad to have been able to watch and experience how technology has changed through the times.

I remember a camera was a luxury when growing up and it was like a luxurious essential that every family owned a camera. To capture important moments was the reason. There was no digital cameras back then, mobile phones were something that came attached to a backpack. People used pagers.

The camera's most people used were compact 35mm camera's. The film of choice was Kodak, Fuji, Konica and Agfa films. Each roll of film could give you about 32 pictures and cost like quite a sum. You could not afford to make mistakes cause unlike digital camera's, film capture permanently. After finishing the roll, you would then have to make your way to a photo studio to pass the film to the shop so that they would be able to process and develop out the pictures for you.....yes, pay again.

Today, photography is available to most people. You have camera's on computers and on almost all mobile phones. With smartphones, digital photography and editing can produce stunning photo's with a SLR or DSLR and, for free. I have fallen in love with Instagram (http://instagram.com/), a photography application for the mobile phone. I use it on my iPhone to snap anything and everything under the sun and then to edit and post it up for friends and family to see. It is genius and now everyone can snap great pictures!

Funtastic Weekend....what did I do oh god!!

Well another week has passed and what an eventful one it has been. I shall not harp about what happened work wise but thank goodness, I received excellent news. Rounded up some friends on Saturday morning and this was our mission:-
1.I shall fetch them at 8am in the morning. We shall then proceed to Puchong for some orgasmic to die for Dim Sum.

2.After breakfast, we shall head off to Jusco Aeon (Bukit Tinggi)  to catch a movie (X-Men First Class).

3.After the movie, off for more food. This time Japanese Sushi (At Sunway Pyramid).

Needless to say there was madness along the way...before the details...some pics...
The Mad Queue even at 9 in the morning.
So worth the wait!

Last Weekend.

What a busy busy weekend. Tired but satisfied. The weekend was spent with family, catching up on e-mails, prepping to re-new passport as well as shopping.

Went to Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) and happily ended up with a new pair of suede white Hush Puppies Slippers at a bargain. Then it was off for a some nice tea and cakes at Alexis to unwind before, ending the evening with some nice food and a nice mug of beer at The George & Dragon. It was my first time there and I guess it was introduction time for The George & Dragon to meet The Darren (haha).

The beers were excellent and you also get to play darts there! I'll be back!

Hi There Friends,

I never thought the day would come when I would find myself blogging. Now blogging is not something new and has been around for years now. What made me do it? Well, I've been on Face Book for some time now and as with everyone, I catch up with friends and family in regards to whats been happening with everyone.

Ever experienced yourself putting in comments, reply to picture posts and so on so forth on Facebook? Sometimes there is more you wish to express or say but there are of course limits to what you can say or how much you can say there. There are times when a thought or idea or a question flashes across our minds that we wish to store, ask or share....what better place to express yourself I thought. Here I am, thus now another blogger tosses into the sea of bloggers that currently exist here on cyberspace.

If you are expecting intellectual banter and deep complexed conversations dwelling on the sciences, politics or religion well, thats not going to happen here. My blog is all about personality, fun, humility and pure laughter and madness. We are already bogged down by life's hardships as we work day in and out and this this page is dedicated to the people in each and everyone of us, what we always wanted to do, to try, or can get away with. So have fun sit back, and please........drop in your thoughts, both evil or kind.

Cheers,
Darren
