In this modern era, I am glad to have been able to watch and experience how technology has changed through the times.I remember a camera was a luxury when growing up and it was like a luxurious essential that every family owned a camera. To capture important moments was the reason. There was no digital cameras back then, mobile phones were something that came attached to a backpack. People used pagers.
The camera's most people used were compact 35mm camera's. The film of choice was Kodak, Fuji, Konica and Agfa films. Each roll of film could give you about 32 pictures and cost like quite a sum. You could not afford to make mistakes cause unlike digital camera's, film capture permanently. After finishing the roll, you would then have to make your way to a photo studio to pass the film to the shop so that they would be able to process and develop out the pictures for you.....yes, pay again.
Today, photography is available to most people. You have camera's on computers and on almost all mobile phones. With smartphones, digital photography and editing can produce stunning photo's with a SLR or DSLR and, for free. I have fallen in love with Instagram (http://instagram.com/), a photography application for the mobile phone. I use it on my iPhone to snap anything and everything under the sun and then to edit and post it up for friends and family to see. It is genius and now everyone can snap great pictures!
